Rotarian Paul Mickiewicz handing off to RPBOE's Vic Fuzo

Every month, Rotarians take turns deliverying foodpack, purchased by the club from NJ Community FoodBank in Hillside, to Robert Gordon Elementary School needy students.  Aside from writing checks, Rotarians enjoy "hands on" projects.  The honor of making the food delivery went to Rotarian Paul Mickiewicz.

Numerous children qualify for free lunch through the National School Lunch Program.  For some of these children, school meals may be the only meals they eat.  So what happens when they go home for the weekend?

Our FoodPack Program provides nutritious food they need to get through the weekends.  Bags are assembled at the Community FoodBank, paid for and transported by Rotarians to the school, then distributed by the Principal to Robert Gordon’s neediest children.

The program is funded from the club treasury, a Rotary grant, a grant from Investor Savings Bank, the sale of birdhouses and donations.

You can donate money to our cause.  We are thankful for any donation amount.  If you can, sponsor a child for an entire school year for $200.  A tax deductible donation of $25, $50, $100, $200 or more can be made payable to: Community FoodBank of New Jersey with the notation: Roselle Park FoodPack.  Just mail your check (only) donation to: Rotary Club of Roselle - Roselle Park, P.O. Box 6, Roselle Park, NJ 07204
