Chris told the club that the Pentagon Memorial is a memorial commemorating the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon and the 184 innocent lives lost in the Pentagon and on American Airlines Flight 77.

Annual Meeting of the Coaches and Co-Captains

The Rotary Club of Roselle – Roselle Park continued its annual tradition of bringing the Head Coaches and Team Captains of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle and Roselle Park High School together to break bread before the 88th Annual Thanksgiving Day Football Game. This is one of the longest running Thanksgiving Day Football games in New Jersey. Hugo Barth, a past president of the Rotary Club of Union, spoke to our Rotary Club about his family's dog Byron. Byron is a certified service dog. He has help people to get over the fear of dogs, has helped veterans at Lyons Hospital as well as elderly patients at Nursing Homes.

Tony Staynings of the Rotary Club of Edison spoke to our club about the Edison Job Corps Academy in Edison. The academy is on a 26 acre campus that provides 530 students with hands on career training, academic programs and a wide variety of recreational activities. It is for 16 to 24 year old students and is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Past Presidents Ivan M. Baker, II (on the left) and Hudson Etienne, Sr.(on the right) celebrated their Rotary Anniversaries at todays meeting. Ivan joined the Rotary Club of Roselle - Roselle Park in September of 1986 and Hudson joined in September of 2001.
